Scottsdale is located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert and that makes it a perfect spot for some great urban hikes. You can hike in Scottsdale or around the Phoenix metro area. Some hikes to consider are, Squaw Peak, McDowell Mtn. Regional Park, Camelback Mountain and Papago Park. Just a bit farther to the south east you'll find the Superstition Mountains.
