Boucher Trail

The Boucher Trail is a wilderness trail accessed via Hermits Trail and Dripping Springs. A steep descent on Hermits leads to the Dripping Springs junction. Follow Dripping Springs trail a short distance to its junction with Boucher. At approximately three miles in, the trail contours around Yuma Point before descending through the Supai group at Travertine Canyon. This is another steep descent with some steps of three feet or more. Use caution here and then continue up the east side of Travertine Canyon. After passing the saddle at Whites Butte, the trail descends through the Redwall formation to the Tonto Platform.
Take the trail west to a point of descent through the Tapeats Sandstone and on to Boucher Creek. The Boucher trail follows the creek all the way to the Colorado River and the end of the trail. Be sure to obtain the proper permits and updated trail conditions from the Backcountry Office at Grand Canyon. Also remember this is a wilderness area and hikers should be prepared with all supplies and sufficient water for the hike.
