Buffalo Park

Flagstaff's Urban Trail System offers opportunities for residents and visitors to explore the area through recreational activities. Buffalo Park is one of the local favorites and features a 2-mile hiking loop, great spots to picnic and fabulous mountain views. The park is set on the site of a former wildlife park as evidenced by the huge buffalo statue at the entry gate.
Although just a few minutes from downtown Flagstaff, the park seems a world away with open meadows and views of the San Francisco Peaks. In winter, it is a great spot for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. From the loop trail, hikers can connect with the Oldham backcountry trail.
