Cattail Cove State Park


Looking for a great place to catch some rays at the beach, swim or camp under the stars? Cattail Cove has all that and a whole lot more. This 2,000 acre state park has 61 campsites and plenty of open water to enjoy boating, fishing, swimming or just soaking up the sun. Visitors can bring their own boat or rent one from the Sandpoint Marina. There are also 28 campsites along the water's edge. 
Fishermen come here to fish for largemouth and striped bass, channel catfish, bluegill and crappie. Birdwatchers will find sandpipers, mallard ducks, Canada geese, osprey and belted kingfishers. Rock hounds search for geodes, jasper, obsidian, turquoise and agates. 
Summer temperatures are hot and great for water based activities. Winters are mild and perfect for watching wildlife or hiking and rock hounding. Day use fees are $15 per vehicle (1-4 adults) on Friday through Sunday and holidays or $10 for non-holiday weekdays. Oversize parking is $25 Friday through Sunday and holidays or $20 on non-holiday weekdays. Camping fees are $28 per vehicle for sites with electric and water. Boat in sites are $20 per vessel. Overnight parking for boat-in sites is $20 on Friday through Sunday plus holidays or $15 for non-holiday weekdays.
