Cliff Springs Trail

Details:

The Cliff Springs Trail winds down a forested ravine to a large overhang protecting natural springs. These springs on the cliff side of a large boulder form shallow pools and support vegetation and wildlife in the area. It is a natural oasis in an otherwise unforgiving territory. Although the views are not so spectacular as other trails in the Grand Canyon area, it is a beautiful respite and gives visitors a very different perspective of the canyon. Warning: Do not drink the water as it may contain girardia or other organisms.

The trail begins across the road from a pullout on a curve about .3 miles down the road from Cape Royal. This hike takes approximately 40 minutes round trip. There is no fee to hike other than the national park entrance fee upon entering Grand Canyon National Park.
