Dos Cabezas Mountains Wilderness


The 11,700 acre Dos Cabezas Mountains Wilderness Area is located about 20 miles east of Willcox in Southern Natural springs in the area provide water and habitat for a wide range of animals from deer and mountain lions to raptors such as golden eagles and peregrine falcon. Elevations range from about 4,000 feet to over 7,000 feet on Government Peak. During rainy seasons, waterfalls appear on the peak, creating inviting pools. 
The main access is from the Happy Camp Canyon area (via unpaved road) and the Indian Bread Recreation site. The BLM maintains a picnic area in Happy Camp Canyon with tall sycamore trees for shade. Admission to the wilderness is free. Due to its remote nature, visitors should check road conditions and get current information before arriving.
