Pinal County Historical Museum

The Pinal County Historical Museum is an excellent first stop for visitors to Florence and its downtown historic district. The Territorial and early State history of Arizona are well preserved in the exhibits from stagecoach robberies to Civil War times, silver boomtown days and Western film star, Tom Mix.
Displays contain an eclectic mix of Civil War and Apache War era guns, antique furnishings, exhibits of Hispanic heritage, POW Camp Florence and the history of Arizona's state prison. The latter includes a collection of 28 nooses used for early hangings and items relating to Winnie Ruth Judd, the 1930s trunk murderess.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, September 1 to July 15 (closed mid July to the end of August.) Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
